Pod Point provide charging for homes and workplaces across the UK, the business has been trading since 2009, in that time, they have installed over 250,000 EV chargers. Pod Point are the preferred supplier for Mercedes-Benz, they have also received a ‘Best of British’ Business award from the ‘The Independent’ and ‘Business Reporter’.
Installation Process
The reliable technicians carry out an at home survey and install the charger within 15 days of placing an order. The team will find the most convenient spot to situate the charger, overall, the installation process takes 2 hours to carry out. Once installed, the customer is then enrolled onto the Pod Point app. The app gives you the option to schedule in charging times, with the dual-rate electricity tariffs, money can be saved by charging during off-peak hours.
Charger information
We offer the 'Solo 3s' which is Pod Points flagship product, offering a power rating of either 3.6kW or 7kW, there is also the option to have a universal socket or a tethered model. The tethered model comes in both Type 1 and Type 2 cabled variants (Type 1 comes with a 4.8m cable and Type 2 a 7.5m cable). To reassure the customer, the charger includes a 5-year warranty covering both the product and installation.
For the installation of the 7kW charger, it would cost £1099 for Universal and £1149 for the Tethered version. Providing up 35 miles of ranger per hour, the 7kw option charges 3x faster than a 3-pin plug.
Solar Charging
The 'Solo 3S' is compatible with solar panels meaning there is the satisfaction of reduced home-charging costs, and zero carbon emissions. When solar production is low, there is the option to top up charging using the National Grid, preventing the waste of excess solar energy.
