Founded in Hiroshima, Japan in 1920, Mazda was originally named 'Toyo Cork Kogyo Co' and they started by producing corks. Since then, Mazda have produced over 40 million vehicles that have been sold worldwide. Their first passenger car was the R360 which was released in 1960.
Since then, they have created iconic models, the most famous and successful with over a million sold, is undoubtedly the MX-5 which was first introduced in 1989. Mazda have recently added an all-electric car to the line-up, the MX-30 which has proved itself to be popular earning itself the ‘Favourite Electric Car’ title in the 2021 DrivingElectric.com Awards.
